A summer tradition [ART’S Challenges exhibition].

This is an exhibition by a group of artists who are experimenting with new challenges.

The Lantern Festival


“Let’s Decorate Futakawajuku with Lanterns”.

Hand-painted fans were displayed and sold by artists participating in the “Komaya-Mitsudaya Art Project.

Futagawa-juku, a former post town of the 53 Stages of the Tokaido Highway in the Edo period.
The 1.5-km street of Futagawa, which still retains the atmosphere of those days, was lit up with approximately 3,000 lanterns, including my lanterns and creative lanterns made by local children and citizens.
